The Paradise Centre consists of two main areas, the indoor sports centre and the outdoor recreational grass area. [theme]
The Centre was built by East Cambridgeshire District Council, and opened in 1986 to provide the community of Ely and surrounding areas with a much needed sports facility.
The Centre is not a local authority centre, although initially built by the council it was immediately handed over to a committee, made up of affiliated club representatives, users of the Centre and the mandatory councillors.
The Centre is a self- funding organisation, we can apply to the council for grant aid, but running costs must always come from Centre revenue.
